Personal statement

I am pursuing a Ph.D. at the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation. My domain of research interests lie at the intersection of labour studies, occupational health, well-being, and informal economies. My current research investigates the occupational hazards and health conditions of solid waste workers in Pakistan, with a particular focus on the adoption of digital and frugal innovations in low-resource urban settings. My work explores how technological interventions impact employment conditions, socio-economic inclusion, and the lived realities of marginalised labour forces. My Ph.D. study critically engages with themes of stigma, precarity, postcolonial inequality, and sustainability in urban waste governance.
