Personal statement

I received my PhD in Psychobiology in 2016 from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (Brazil), with a research visit at the University of New Mexico (USA). Before joining the University of Strathclyde, I worked as a postdoctoral research associate on the ERC-funded project "How do Humans Recognise Kin?" led by Professor Lisa DeBruine at the School of Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of Glasgow. I also worked as a research associate on the EPSRC-funded project "Designing Conversational Assistants to Reduce Gender Bias," led by Professor Benedict Jones at the University of Strathclyde. I began my role as a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Strathclyde in August 2022. My research interests include behavioral endocrinology, evolutionary psychology, prosocial behavior, and social perception. I use data-driven methods to understand human behavior and health-related outcomes in applied research. I am also passionate about open science practices and quantitative methods.
