Projects
- AFRC-DIRF-07251 Flow Forming Capability Development and Knowledge Transfer
- Krishnamurthy, Bhaskaran (Co-investigator) Hicks, May (Principal Investigator) Stirling, William (Researcher)
- Consolidated Boring Inc. (CBI) have approached AFRC to conduct a programme of knowledge exchange activities on flow forming. There has been significant knowledge loss within their flow forming business in recent years which this project aims to address. This project will enhance flow forming capabilities through comprehensive knowledge exchange and advanced practical design of
experiments.
This will be approached in two phases devised into two individual packages of work. The first will be a remote programme of knowledge exchange whereby AFRC will prepare content to deliver via Teams on the fundamentals of flow forming. Thereafter, AFRC and CBI will agree the scope of the practical element of the second phase of the project. This will include definition of a multi-material
and / or multi-geometry design of experiments to ideally be conducted collaboratively on site, or remote with agreement. A stage gate review will be held between parties to define the scope of this phase and an additional quotation issued. - 17-Jan-2025
