Personal statement

My research falls within the broad area of public service transformation, with a particular focus on the design, delivery and management of public services. I take an inter-disciplinary approach, drawing on theories from both public administration and service management to explore value co-creation, service user participation and collaborative governance.

Over the course of my academic career, I have investigated various public service areas, including social security, housing, health and social care. I have a strong international profile, having worked with colleagues from across Europe on a large Horizon 20/20 project, ‘CoVAL’. I have also published extensively in academic journals including Public Administration Review, Public Management Review and Policy & Politics.
