Strathclyde SportFirst birthday challenge

Strathclyde Sport’s first birthday is fast approaching! The facility has enjoyed a record breaking first year with over 400,000 visitors and a membership increase of 107%.

To celebrate our first birthday on Tuesday 17 September, staff will be attempting a 365-mile static bike ride over the course of the day. Stationary bikes will be located  at the entrance to the facility and the event will start at 8am.

Members are invited/actively encouraged to participate in the challenge at any point throughout the day and contribute to the 365-mile total, be it one mile or 100 miles.

Every member who helps reach the target will have their membership number added to a raffle, with a variety of prizes to be won!

On the day, we will also be taking donations for charity, ‘500 miles’.

‘500 miles’ supports the development and delivery of prosthetic and orthotic services in Malawi and Zambia helping people with impaired mobility to get moving by providing access to prostheses and orthoses.

Olivia Giles, founder and CEO of ‘500 miles’, was awarded an honorary degree at the University in 2017.

To get involved simply visit Strathclyde Sport on Tuesday 17 September, or speak to a member of the Strathclyde Sport Fitness team on your next visit!
