Accreditation confirmed for Strathclyde's new Civil Engineering Graduate Apprenticeship programme

There was reason to celebrate as Strathclyde received the exciting news that our Civil Engineering BEng (Hons) Graduate Apprenticeship programme is now accredited having fully met the academic base for IEng and partially meeting the academic base for CEng by ICE, IStructE, IHE and CIHT.

This is a fantastic achievement for the programme which launched in 2019 and will be moving into a second cohort in September 2020.

The Civil Engineering Graduate Apprenticeship programme is fully funded through Skills Development Scotland which offers a unique and flexible delivery model. Apprentices learn through a combination of online learning, professional practice and attendance on campus days just one day per month which dramatically reduces time spent outside the workplace.

As well as having access to our award-winning online learning platform, Graduate Apprentices also receive support from their University appointed Work Based Learning Advisor, who will visit them in their place of work to guide them through the work based learning elements of the programme.

Strathclyde's current cohort of apprentices come from a range of organisations across Scotland.  With no age restrictions for the programme and our flexible admissions approach, applications will be considered on an individual basis with input from employers.

If you would like to find out more information on how to nominate an existing employee or how to recruit a Graduate Apprentice into your company, then please do not hesitate to contact elaine.pickering@strath.ac.uk or call 0141 548 3277.
