Summary

Scholarships of £6,000 are available to new international fee-paying students joining an eligible postgraduate taught masters degree in the Faculty of Science in September 2026.

All postgraduate taught masters offer holders in the Department of Computer & Information Sciences, Department of Mathematics & Statistics, Department of Pure & Applied Chemistry and Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences who meet the eligibility criteria will receive the scholarship.

The scholarship will be awarded automatically to eligible students on receipt of deposit payment until 31 July 2026. No separate scholarship application is necessary. 

Eligibility

In order to be considered for a Faculty of Science International Masters Scholarship, candidates must:

  • be a new, international (non-EU) fee-paying student enrolling on an on-campus, full-time taught masters degree in one of the following departments in September 2026:
    • Department of Computer & Information Sciences
    • Department of Mathematics & Statistics
    • Department of Pure & Applied Chemistry  
    • Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences
  • Be self-funded. Students who receive full sponsorship, for example from a government office or embassy are not eligible to receive this scholarship.

Terms and conditions

  • Applicants must meet all of the above eligibility criteria to receive a Faculty of Science International Masters Scholarship.
  • Awardees must register on an on-campus Masters degree in the Department of Computer & Information Sciences, Department of Mathematics & Statistics, Department of Pure & Applied Chemistry or Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences for September 2026 entry and continue to meet all of the above eligibility criteria.
  • This scholarship value is £6,000 and will be deducted from your tuition fees.
  • The scholarship will be awarded automatically to eligible students on receipt of deposit payment until 31 July 2026. No separate scholarship application is necessary.
  • The scholarship cannot be deferred or transferred to any other entry points. It cannot be used for payment of a deposit.
  • Online degrees, postgraduate certificates and postgraduate diplomas are not eligible for these scholarships.
  • Students are only eligible for one scholarship per academic year from the University of Strathclyde.
  • The Faculty of Science’s decision on the awarding of scholarships is final. Appeals will not be considered.

How to apply

All new postgraduate taught masters students who register for an on-campus masters degree in the Department of Computer & Information Sciences, Department of Mathematics & Statistics, Department of Pure & Applied Chemistry or Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences in September 2026 and who meet the eligibility criteria will receive the scholarship.

No separate scholarship application is necessary. 

International students who hold an offer of admission for postgraduate taught study in the Department of Physics, may be eligible for our Masters Scholarship for Physics International Students.
