Summary

Scholarships of £1,500 are available to new UK fee-paying students joining a postgraduate taught masters degree in the Department of Physics in September 2026.

All postgraduate taught masters offer holders in the Department of Physics who meet the eligibility criteria will receive the scholarship. No separate scholarship application is necessary. 

Eligibility

In order to be considered for a Masters Scholarship for Physics UK Fee-paying Students, candidates must:

  • Be a new, UK fee-paying student enrolling on a full-time, taught masters degree in the Department of Physics for September 2026 entry.
  • Be eligible for tuition fees at the Home or RUK fee rate.

Terms and conditions

  • Applicants must meet all of the above eligibility criteria to receive a Masters Scholarship for Physics UK Fee-paying students.
  • Awardees must register on an on-campus Masters degree in the Department of Physics for September 2026 entry and continue to meet all of the above eligibility criteria. The scholarship cannot be deferred or transferred to any other entry points.
  • The scholarship value is £1,500. It will be awarded towards the payment of a student’s tuition fee.
  • The deadline for consideration is 11 September 2026.
  • The scholarship will be awarded automatically to eligible students. No separate scholarship application is necessary.
  • Students are only eligible to hold one scholarship per academic year from the University of Strathclyde.
  • The Faculty of Science's decision on the awarding of scholarships is final. Appeals will not be considered.

How to apply

All new postgraduate taught masters students who register for a masters degree in the Department of Physics in September 2026 and who meet the eligibility criteria will receive the scholarship.
