Fulbright - University of Strathclyde Award

The University of Strathclyde, in partnership with the Fulbright US Student programme, is offering the Postgraduate Student Award for the 2019 academic session.

Our partnership with Fulbright aims to foster intercultural understanding between the US and the UK through educational exchange, and we're delighted to offer this scholarship opportunity to students seeking to pursue a Master’s or PhD at Strathclyde that will help them fulfil their potential in their career and beyond.

Eligibility

US students looking to pursue a Master’s or PhD at Strathclyde.

Project Details

The award will be offered to an American postgraduate student to pursue:

  • a one-year Master’s degree programme or the first year of a PhD or a PhD for a period of three years (two awards) within the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences
  • a one-year Master’s degree programme or the first year of a PhD or a PhD for a period of three years (one award) within the Faculty of Engineering
  • a three-year PhD (one award) for the Faculty of Science
  • a three-year PhD (one award) for the Strathclyde Business School

In addition to applying for the award, students will apply for admission to the University and enrol on his/her intended course of study in the normal way. 

Funding

This scholarship covers:

  • waiving of tuition fees
  • a living stipend, which will increase each year by 2% to take into account the effect of inflation. 2019/20: £13,200 

How to apply

Application for the awards will be made to the Fulbright Commission, which will also be solely responsible for allocating the awards using the criteria as laid down by the Fulbright Scholarship Board in Washington.

The University of Strathclyde’s view will be taken into account during the selection process and students will only be selected if they meet the University's admission requirements. The University reserves the right to refuse potential awardees if they do not meet the necessary requirements.
