Would you recommend this summer programme?

Yes I would definitely recommend! It’s a wonderful opportunity to study in a different academic environment whilst also meeting people from all over the world, and immersing yourself in a completely different country! Lectures are simple yet engaging. It was a great personal experience gaining confidence, building friendships and exploring a new country!

What activities were organised by your programme? Did one in particular stand out as your favourite?

The programme organised a variety of activities, including a day tour around Hong Kong, a ministry tour, and a Chinese oil painting class. My favourite was definitely the day tour—it was a fantastic way to meet other students early on and explore some of Hong Kong’s most iconic landmarks, like the Big Buddha. It made settling in much easier and was a really fun and memorable experience. There were also plenty of optional activities you could sign up for, and even if you didn’t register straight away, there were often chances to get a spot closer to the date if you changed your mind.

Did you have the opportunity to travel elsewhere on your summer programme?

Yes, I had the opportunity to travel to Hanoi, Vietnam and Chiang Mai, Thailand during my time on the summer programme. It was a great way to make the most of being in Asia and experience different cultures, food, and landscapes.
The programme schedule was flexible enough to allow for weekend trips, which made it easy to plan short getaways alongside my studies.

What is your favourite memory of your summer programme?

My favourite memory is the friendships I built during the programme. Some of the best moments were the spontaneous plans we made—whether it was going out for dinner, exploring the city, or just sitting and chatting late into the night. made the experience feel so special

How has this summer programme impacted your life?

This summer programme has had a really positive impact on me academically, socially, and personally. Academically, studying Biology of Human Health gave me knowledge that I will use in my day-to-day life, both in my studies and future career. It also strengthened my CV by showing my willingness to take on international learning opportunities.

Socially and personally, living in Hong Kong was an unforgettable experience—I made amazing memories, met people from all over the world, and was inspired by the lifestyle and culture. I’ll definitely be taking little things I learned from how people live in Hong Kong into my own life, alongside the friendships and beautiful sights that I’ll always remember.
