The University of Strathclyde has been ranked second in Scotland for Overall Satisfaction in the 2026 National Student Survey (NSS).
Strathclyde achieved an Overall Satisfaction score of 88.6%, an increase of 1.6 percentage points on last year and 7.3 percentage points above the average for universities and small specialist institutions in Scotland.
The result reflects Strathclyde’s progress in the NSS, following third place in Scotland in 2024 and fifth place in 2023.
Professor Stephen McArthur, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Strathclyde, said: “These results are a strong endorsement of the high-quality learning environment we provide at Strathclyde and of the support our students receive throughout their studies.
“Achieving another increase in Overall Satisfaction, and remaining well above the Scottish sector average, reflects the care, commitment and professionalism of colleagues across the University. I am grateful to everyone who has played a part in supporting our students and strengthening their experience at Strathclyde.
“We will continue to build on this progress, while focusing carefully on the areas where students tell us we can do more.”
Significantly higher
For the fourth year running, Strathclyde’s Overall Satisfaction score was significantly higher than its Office for Students target benchmark, exceeding it by 5.1 percentage points.
The University also continued to perform strongly across the wider NSS measures. For the third consecutive year, the University scored above the Scotland sector average across all seven theme measures and Overall Satisfaction. Compared with the UK sector, Strathclyde scored higher in five of the seven NSS themes.
The NSS gathers the views of final-year undergraduate students across the UK and is one of the sector’s key measures of the student academic experience. Universities and colleges use the results to inform improvements to courses, services and support.
