Engage with our studentsStudent projects

Our student projects can address company challenges and can range from just a few days in length to months of student effort. Shorter projects are typically class assignments while the longer projects usually involve student dissertations. Co-designing a project allows us to align the organisational need and the educational outcomes of the student programme of study.

Our students can help organisations find solutions to a specific problem or can help support an ongoing project. Benefits for an organisation include:

  • Accessing skills and knowledge from emerging talent supported by academic staff
  • Engaging with potential future employees
  • Fresh perspectives and new ideas

A project can be undertaken by our undergraduate and postgraduate students with interests and knowledge in general business and management, such as the MBA & General Management and the Management Development Programme, as well as with specialist knowledge in our areas of scholarship:

Projects our students have engaged in with business have included:

  • A company looking for strategic options to leverage its debt and provide strategic direction for the future to retain its marketing position
  • Exploration of a restructuring strategy for a new collaborative partnership
  • A luxury chain of hotels exploring options for entry into Asian markets
  • The impact of technology on the customer experience across varied customer journeys
  • A small business looking to identify market opportunities
  • Tools to map systems change in mental health and wellbeing
  • Benchmarking and performance frameworks in police systems
  • Analytical techniques applied in the hospitality sector
  • The carbon footprint of online digital performance

There are opportunities across our Masters portfolio for project and internship collaboration. Please get in touch to find out how our students can work with you by emailing SBS-engagewithus@strath.ac.uk
