How did you decide to study at Strathclyde?

I read about the vibrant student community and all the services provided, which created a welcoming atmosphere that I wanted to be part of. The scholarship opportunities and the chance to experience life in Scotland also influenced my decision.

What were your reasons for taking on a postgraduate degree?

I wanted to specialise in a trending field, and I had already worked with machine learning in the past. By the time I discovered the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Applications programme, I was already fascinated by AI and sought to apply my analytical skills in a subject with numerous meaningful applications. The reason I chose to pursue a postgraduate degree was that I was looking for a structured environment in which to learn, and I wanted guidance and mentorship from the professors.

What do you like about your course and Strathclyde?

I really enjoyed the labs, especially when we had to form groups and have discussions or solve problems together. Another positive for my course is that all modules felt connected to each other during each semester, and I got the structure I was looking for.

How have you found your time living in Glasgow, and what's your favourite thing about the city?

As an international student, I knew I would find challenges adapting to the culture and the social dynamics of a new country. I wasn’t scared, but rather excited to explore Scotland for the first time through its largest city. Understanding the local accent was the first challenge I encountered in my first few days, but the genuine kindness of Glaswegians made me feel warmly welcomed whenever I tried to communicate.

I find Glasgow to be a place with the perfect balance, it has all sorts of amenities and opportunities of a vibrant city while maintaining the charm of a smaller town. Countless services and activities can be found both within the city and in the nearby countryside, yet Glasgow lacks the overwhelming rush and stress of a large metropolitan area. You can see galleries and museums as well as the captivating architecture of Glasgow and get a glimpse of its story.
