The Department of Architecture, University of Strathclyde is pleased to announce the first Conference on Advanced Forming Technologies in AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction), as part of our dissemination of research project outputs funded by the Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC). This one day high impact event will be held on 24 August 2017 in our state of the art conference facilities in the Technology & Innovation Centre, University of Strathclyde.
Our research evaluates and develops advanced methodologies and approaches in cutting edge Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to address the myriad of issues arising from the fragmented nature of the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industries. This research builds on our Department’s legacy of the late 1970s, in the work of the BPRU (Building Performance Research Unit) and ABACUS (Architecture and Building Aids Computer Unit).
The Conference will bring together experts from academia and industry to share and discuss cutting edge advanced technologies in Architecture, Engineering and Constuction - with the goal of highlighting overlaps with the Advanced Forming Research Centre's priorities for research and the construction industry. The main topics will include but will not be limited to:
- The Internet of Things and Big Data
- Real Time BIM and Dynamic Simulation
- AR-VR-Mixed Reality Application in AEC
- Lean-Six-Sigma and Vertical Integration with BIM
- Advanced IT Technologies in Offsite Construction
- Advanced Sensors in Construction and the Built Environment
