Design, Manufacturing & Engineering ManagementJaslin Bhangoo: my five favourite things about Scotland

Hey, everyone!

This blog is dedicated entirely to my top five favourite things about Scotland!

1. Easy to travel

I absolutely love how easy it is to travel around Scotland. It’s very safe and easy to just hop on the train or bus and and go exploring. Definitely a lot easier to explore here than it was in Canada.

2. Incredible history

The history which is enriched in each city and town is incredible! Trust me, you’ll want to learn more once you see a beautiful castle or monument. For example, a day trip to Edinburgh gives you the perfect opportunity to explore and visit Edinburgh Castle, climb up Arthur's seat (the 45-minute hike is totally worth the view of the entire city), learn about Scotland’s history, and eat great food!

3. Nature & wildlife

Nature and wildlife here are amazing! Not only will the pictures make your Instagram look great but the overall beauty of the country will have you in awe.

4. Unique music & art scene

The music and art scene here is so unique! If you enjoy listening to great music or visiting museums in your free time, you’ll love it here. My favourite museums would definitely have to be the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow, the Scottish Natural Gallery in Edinburgh and the McManus Galleries in Dundee, they are all worth checking out!

5. The islands

Lastly, the islands here are for sure my favourite! There’s so much to see and do on each island, they are all so different and unique. The Isle of Arran makes for a great day trip.  The Isle of Skye is also a must see if you’re in Scotland!

You'll definitely want to make the most of your time here. Hopefully, you get the chance to check out a few of the places I've mentioned above. Trust me, you won't regret it!
