思克莱德大学设计制造及工程管理系虚拟暑期夏令营简介 DMEM Virtual Summer School

An intense 5 Day online event delivered over Zoom offering overseas student the opportunity to:

1. Experience a number of live and recorded “taster” lectures drawn the departments’ classes
2. Gain skills in digital tools used by individuals & groups to create functional products
3. Work with current Strathclyde students on group projects
4. Be informed about the country of Scotland, student life in the city of Glasgow, the University of Strathclyde and the Department of Design, Manufacturing and Engineering Management

通过在远程会议软件Zoom上为期5天丰富紧凑的线上活动，海外学生将有机会获得以下经历：

1. 体验一系列直播或录播的样本课程，这些课程都取材于学院的实际授课科目
2. 通过个人分工及小组合作，学会使用数字工具去制作有用且功能丰富的产品
3. 与正在思克莱德大学学习的学生合作完成小组作业

The program consists of 4 self-study morning sessions and 5 afternoon (2pm to 6.30pm) sessions. The morning sessions will consist of a number of short high quality, recorded lectures in English (with English subtitles) from department members of staff. A short multi-choice test will be available to allow self-assessment of English compression and understanding of the material presented in the morning video lectures.

The afternoon sessions will be "live" events delivered over the Zoom video meeting service and have the following content:

此纲要包含4天自学上午课程以及5天下午课程 （下午2点到6点半）。上午课程将包括一系列由系里老师用英语录播的高质量的简短课程（带英文字幕）。一个简短的多选测试可以让学生对英语以及上午视频课程中介绍的内容的理解程度进行自我评估。下午课程将会通过视频会议软件‘Zoom’进行一系列线上直播课程及小组活动。具体内容如下:

• Wrap-up, presentation of participation certificates (Director of T&L + staff)

1^st and 2^nd year undergraduate students from existing and potential 2+2 partner institutions who are studying industrial design, mechanical engineering, production, manufacturing engineering or engineering management topics and are considering the possibility of studying abroad in the future. Participation by students studying other related degrees (for example, Electrical Engineering or Art and Design) can be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The summer school will take place from Monday 17^th of August to Friday 21^st of August.

此暑期夏令营将会从8月17日（周一）开始，到8月21日（周五）结束

• You should be a current student (not UK) enrolled at an international higher education institution
• You will need good Internet access (around 1.5MBS minimum)
• There is no age restriction other than you must be 18 years or over
• Have a good understanding of spoken and written English (a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 is recommended)
• You should be studying industrial or product design, manufacturing engineering, automation, robotics, industrial engineering or a related discipline.

The Summer school will be entirely online using following established online platforms:

• Zoom: Video conferencing system will be used to deliver lectures and facilitate group work.
• myPlace: Used to host course materials and enable assessment quiz
• onshape: Free online CAD package will be used for individual and group work
• TinkerCAD/Circuits: Free online Arduino simulation for mechatronic design (used in DM401)
• Trello: Free Project Management System will be used for management of group projects
• BeerGame: Free Online supply chain game for groups of 4 players (used in 56110)

Online multi-choice quiz to allow self-assessment of comprehension & understanding.

每一天参加暑期夏令营的学生将可以观看一节时长为一小时左右的录制课程，每节课程将针对特定主题且带有字幕及线上多元化测试。（这将帮助学生对理解程度进行自我评估）

The cost of each participant is £200 for the week. However, many £50 scholarships are available which will reduce the price to £150. The scholarship will support participation by students whose degree subjects closely match the courses offered by DMEM. There will be some online assessments and a completion certificate for all participants who complete the week. Like the traditional summer school fee will be refundable to any student who later attend Strathclyde University.

每位参加暑期夏令营的同学的费用为200英镑。但是设计制造及工程管理系将会提供若干50英镑奖学金名额，在此基础上参加夏令营的费用将减少至150英镑. 该奖学金将用以支持学位课程与设计制造及工程管理系课程相近的学生参加。在暑期夏令营进行期间将会有一些线上测试，所有完成这一周暑期夏令营课程的同学将会收到一张结业证书。与以往举办的暑期夏令营一样，对于任何随后来到思克莱德大学学习的同学，该费用将会被退还。
