Design, Manufacture & Engineering ManagementRegina Cseh: Why did you pick Scotland and Glasgow?

I began my research and considered my options all over the UK for starting a new degree.

Firstly, I asked friends, colleagues and acquaintances from the UK to find out more about university design courses and researched online as well. I was looking at major cities that were also known to be affordable and student friendly. That was when I stumbled upon Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde.

Many years before that, I had visited Glasgow as part of a backpacking trip to the UK which also covered the Scottish Highlands, including the Falls of Bruar.

Despite only having spent a day or two in Glasgow, the city immediately captivated me, and I knew I was going to come back.

Little did I know then, that I would be living and studying here now!

Scotland is known for its friendly and down-to-earth people, spectacular wildlife, and Glasgow is a dynamic city with a vibrant cultural scene. I didn’t know anyone living or studying in Glasgow at that stage, so I just had to trust what I saw, heard and read about it. Thankfully it was all true!

As part of my day trip around the highlands and after a climb to a peak, we were rewarded with such a breathtaking view:
