Department signs a new 5 year deal with China Light and Power (CLP) to deliver CPD programmes

China Light and Power (CLP), which owns and operates the power generation, transmission and distribution systems in mainland Hong Kong, has recently signed a five-year deal with the Department to provide tailored Continuing Professional Development (CPD) modules to CLP staff covering a range of topics.

The programme is led by Dr Campbell Booth and will involve staff from Electronic & Electrical Engineering and other departments across the University in delivering distance-learning content in combination with intensive classroom-based sessions in Hong Kong. It will be developed with assistance from the Faculty of Engineering's new Flexible Learning Centre.

The programme builds upon a long-standing relationship between CLP and the Department that spans move then 20 years. It enables the Department to enhance its portfolio of on-line course offerings, allowing valuable experience, innovative teaching techniques and best practices to be developed to service the increasing demand for training and self-paced learning that is currently being witnessed.
