PhD Title - Solutions for Enabling Inexpensive and Robust Transmission of Offshore Wind Power.
Email - firstname.lastname@example.org
Start Date - October 2016
Degree - BSc Mathematics – University of Edinburgh
As wind farms continue to move further offshore, the difficulties in transmitting power back to land become more of an issue. The complexity of transmission systems combined with the associated enormous financial costs pose a significant hurdle to future developments. In this PhD, my research will first be focussed on understanding the present methods of power transmission with a view to exploring some newly proposed ideas.
