ACG at summer 2019 conferences in Portugal
Members of the ACG give presentations at ICNF and MECHCOMP
In summer 2019 members of the ACG travelled to two separate conferences, both held in Portugal. Prof Jim Thomason was the sole representative at the 4th International Conference on Natural Fibres held in Porto. He contributed directly to the natural fibre polymer composite session with a presentation on Evaluation of Injection Moulded Natural Fibre-Polyolefin for Potential In Automotive Applications.
Simultaneously, four other members of the ACG attended the 5th International Conference on Mechanics of Composites held in the capital city of Lisbon. Post-doc Peter Jenkins and PhD students David Bryce, Ashlee Espinoza and Mariusz Kucharek presented on a range of composite topics including aerogel-fibre interface, composite wear under slurry flow and issues affecting resin cure during micromechanical testing.
