Technical Staff Development Programme

main content

Earlier this year, the University was formally recognised as the first University Employer Champion in Scotland, by the Science Council for the development opportunities available to support our technical staff.

As part of our ongoing commitment to this support, OSDU are currently developing a formal modular programme to support technical staff.

Focus Groups

During 2016 and early 2017, we will be holding focus groups to establish development requirements and to make available a pilot programme in mid 2017.  If you would like to take part in the focus group, please use the link below to book onto the next meeting.

Technician's Commitment

The Technician Commitment is a university and research institution initiative, led by a steering group of sector bodies, with support from the Science Council and the Gatsby Charitable Foundation’s Technicians Make It Happen campaign. The Commitment aims to ensure visibility, recognition, career development and sustainability for technicians working in higher education and research, across all disciplines. Universities and research institutes are invited to become signatories of the Technician Commitment and pledge action against the key challenges affecting their technical staff.
