• Describe your Tianjin experience in one sentence

Tianjin was my first experience of living independently and my time there allowed me to become fully immersed in Chinese culture, helping me to learn the language and providing countless opportunities to walk around and explore, making everyday an adventure

• What do you love about China?

The sheer size of China means you’ll never run out of opportunities to explore new places and learn about different ways of life. My favourite part about China is streets being lively 24/7 meaning you can go out and eat the local food at any-time, day or night

• Best Opportunity learning Chinese has given you

When in China speaking Chinese has meant I’ve been able to travel around the country without the need for travel guides or agencies. While Chinese helps me on a daily basis at work when communicating with Chinese tourists, I feel the best and the most important opportunity the language has given me is the ability to make friends all around the world

• Do you have future plans involving Chinese?

I will go back to China to study for my third year of university but I also want to go back and visit during the summers leading up to that. I hope to one day have a career that allows me to live and work there
