春节快乐!Happy spring festival!
After finishing exams at the start of January we were able to leave for our travels. I went with some other scholars to Harbin 哈尔滨, Shanghai 上海, Chongqing 重庆, Chengdu 成都, and then I returned home 回家for 2 weeks.
哈尔滨
Harbin was really cool, there wasn’t a lot of snow laying around as I thought there would be but there was still snow. We went skiing and visited the snow and ice world. As well as seeing a university ice sculpting competition in a local park and visiting the carnival on the river.

上海
Shanghai was the most expensive city by far. I spent more there than I did in Chongqing and Chengdu put together. Because Shanghai is a popular tourist place a lot of people speak English and will assume that you can’t speak Chinese and so will speak to you in English at restaurants and attractions. In Shanghai we did a river cruise, went to a garden, visited the zoo, and went to the theme park and the Oriental pearl tower.

重庆
Chongqing was the best visual city I was in by far, the buildings lit up everywhere were so cool. We went to see the Chongqing 1949 (a show about the liberation of Chongqing using a rotating stage which takes the audience with it). We also went on the Cable car across the river. We did try and see the drone show however it had happened an hour earlier due to rain which we didn’t realise until it was over.

成都
In Chengdu we obviously went to see the pandas. We also went to see the Tianfu blue tears and got to see some cool lanterns on the street. On our last day we took a day trip to Leshan in order to see the Giant Budda carved into the side of a mountain. And then finished the day off by seeing the bamboo water towers.

回家
After going around China I returned home to visit my family and friends whilst other people moved onto visiting other countries.
