Dr Sharon Hunter, Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head of Institute (Critical, Global and Inclusive Education), Strathclyde Institute of Education

Dr Hunter’s research focuses on two areas: the concept of the child in relation to modernity – including child activism – and academic literacies in higher education. She leads SIoE’s Habits of Mind project, which aims to reshape undergraduate education by embedding learning dispositions – such as curiosity, creativity, empathy, and openness – into first-year students’ modules to form learners who can critically engage with their education.

Dr Rebekah Sims

Dr Rebekah Sims, Lecturer, Strathclyde Institute of Education

Dr Sims serves as ICWTE convenor. Her central area of research is widening participation, in and beyond education. She focuses on primarily two areas: (1) intercultural competence development and (2) integrating writing instruction into teacher education programmes. In both areas, she works to widen access to education for underrepresented students while improving the quality of higher education student experience for all. 

Dr Anna-Vera Meidell Sigsgaard, Associate Professor, University College Copenhagen 

Dr Meidell Sigsgaard’s research focuses on the language dimension in subject-area teaching in the fields of second language education, subject specific literacy, students' language development, science education, and academic writing in the teaching profession. A central concern across her work is how students and teacher education students gain access to legitimate forms of knowledge — in schools as well as in higher professional education. Alongside her research, Dr. Meidell Sigsgaard teaches and supervise in the areas of Danish as a second language and multilingual education.

Dr Inger-Lise Mourier

Dr Inger-Lise Mourier, Associate Professor, University College Copenhagen

Dr Mourier primarily teaches student teachers Danish as a first language. Her work focuses on developing creative, academic, and professional writing, as well as using writing as a tool for thinking and reflection. She is responsible for the daily management of UCC’s Writing Centre. 

Dr Marie-Louise Molbæk

Dr Marie-Louise Molbæk, Associate Professor, University College Copenhagen 

Dr Molbæk focuses on teacher education in Danish as a subject. Her central area of research is on writing instruction in primary school focusing on writing practices, participation and writer identity. She also works to develop teaching practices within KP as consultant focusing on integrating writing instruction and writing practices into teacher education programmes.
