Mock Housing Mediation Session

Wednesday 16 June 2021 ā€“ 11am ā€“ 12noon

Strathclyde Housing Mediation Project invite you to observe a "Mock Housing Mediation Session" on Wednesday 16 June at 11.00am ā€“ 12noon.

This event is free but registration via Eventbrite is required. A link will be emailed to participants who register nearer the time of the event.

Mediation makes particular sense for housing matters. Cost-effective, efficient, and pragmatic, it is less damaging to relationships than formal action.   The consensual approach means agreements are more likely to be fulfilled, reducing the risk of eviction.

Our webinar event will demonstrate how a mediation session works and will focus on a "typical " tenant/landlord housing case within the Private Rented Sector.

Participants will be able to observe how two mediators along with two parties attempt to guide the parties to resolution.

Who is this event aimed at?

This event is particularly useful to Tenants, Landlords, Letting Agents as well as those working within organisations that deal with issues such as repairs, rent arrears, deposits, communication, and general tenant/landlord issues.

Anyone who has an interest in housing, including mediators, and is interested in alternative ways to resolve disputes will also find this helpful.

Iā€™d be grateful if you could please share this with your contacts on email and social media.

The event will be facilitated by Charlie Irvine, the Director of the Mediation Clinic.
