Constitutional Law Honours Class Trip to London

This week, Professor Aileen McHarg and Dr Chris McCorkindale accompanied students in the Constitutional Law Honours class on the annual class field trip to London.  In a packed two days, the students visited the UK Supreme Court, where they met with Lord Reed, the Cabinet Office, the Scotland Office and the Houses of Parliament, where they met with MPs, House of Commons staff and observed a select committee hearing and a House of Lords debate.

The trip culminated with the students holding their own mock select committee hearings, taking evidence on 20 Years of the Human Rights Act from Professor Keith Ewing, Professor Conor Gearty, Professor Aileen MColgan, Aidan O’Neill QC and Angela Patrick QC.

The Law School are grateful to all those who helped to facilitate the trip and who gave up their time to meet with the students. As always, it was an immensely rewarding educational experience, and an enjoyable end to the first semester.
