Prof Cyrus Tata appointed to Advise on Criminal Justice Social Work

Prof Cyrus Tata (Centre for Law, Crime & Justice) is to be appointed to the official 'High Level Advisory Group' to the Care Inspectorate's scrutiny of Criminal Justice Social Work in Scotland.

Commenting on his appointment Prof Tata said:

I am honoured to have been asked to help design the inspection of criminal justice social work in Scotland. 

High-quality Criminal Justice Social Work is vital to the development of effective criminal justice practice, advising assisting the courts in its sentencing decisions, and implementing those decisions. This is key to the confidence of both the public and the courts in the vitality of non-prison sentences.
