Strathclyde Mediation Clinic features in new Mediation (Scotland) Bill consultation

Margaret Mitchell MSP is introducing a Mediation Act as a member's bill in the Scottish Parliament, and the consultation was launched last week.  It makes a number of references to the Mediation Clinic and the work of its volunteers in sheriff courts throughout the West of Scotland.  Based on the Clinic's experience the Bill proposes a "duty mediator" scheme and a system of triage to establish suitability.  Its aim is to increase the use and consistency of mediation services in civil actions.

The Mediation Clinic will be responding to the consultation and encourages others to do so too.
