Through research, teaching and working with the public, our research centres help to shape public policy and practice in the following areas of expertise:
Law, crime & justice
The Centre for Law, Crime & Justice brings together expertise in the study of law, crime, criminal justice and the overlapping research.
We provide distinctive postgraduate programmes such as the UK’s first graduate level course in Criminal Justice & Penal Change (LLM /MSc /Pg Dip/ Cert).
Environmental law
The aim of the Strathclyde Centre for Environmental Law & Governance is to raise and influence policy and relevant research in International, European and national (both Scottish and English) environmental law.
We are also a hub for excellence in postgraduate and PhD teaching.
We host a visiting researcher programme, including high profile guest lectures, seminars and conferences. We welcome consultancy collaborations with public and private policy makers and stakeholders.
