‘Their dignities an’ a’ that’: Towards a Scottish conceptualisation of  dignity & a new human rights framework.

By providing a uniquely Scottish conceptualisation of dignity – drawing on elements of Scotland’s shared cultural heritage and the robust legal and philosophical concept of dignity already latently present in Scots private law – this thesis seeks to ensure a bottom-up route for the domestic implementation of international human rights in Scotland.
