Getting the balance right in private sector evictions in Scotland

My research will focus on the ways in which private sector evictions work from both a legal and practical perspective. My research will seek to engage with the work of the relevant tribunal, the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Housing and Property Chamber). I will consider the impact of recent changes in the law, including the requirement for reasonableness to be considered in all private sector evictions, has had on the work of the Tribunal. At this early stage in my research there is considerable scope to consider the future impact of the Housing (Scotland) Bill, alongside the ways in which private sector evictions interact with a range of issues including human rights law and homelessness.
