Foreign Law Before National Courts. An Analytical Study of the laws of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)

Despite the potential suitability of foreign law in resolving disputes before national courts in GCC countries, its application remains complex and often impractical, even where parties have expressly chosen it. This research examines the legal and procedural challenges that hinder its effective use, particularly in a region shaped by significant expatriate populations, and argues for urgent reform to improve how foreign law is understood, applied, and integrated within GCC judicial systems.
