“Union Black: Britain’s Black cultures and steps to anti-racism” Online course

The University of Strathclyde is pleased to support Union Black: Britain’s Black cultures and steps to anti-racism, a free online education programme for students and staff members at UK universities, designed to drive cultural change across the higher education sector.

Developed by the Open University and FutureLearn in partnership with Santander Universities, the programme responds to University UK’s “Tackling racial harassment in higher education” report and provide learners with an understanding of the origins and experience of Black British history, race, and culture, and how individuals can make a positive difference.

The course is freely available to University of Strathclyde staff and students for the next three years, and consists of 6 hours of content through a mixture of online learning content, discussion and interactive activities, completed in the learners’ own time.   All learners will receive a digital certificate upon completion.
