‘This image shows green mitochondria dots – the energy hubs of cells – appearing to travel along a thin cellular connection highlighted by the red cell skeleton. Under stress, healthy mitochondria may move to neighbouring cells, sustaining the surrounding tissue. This process, known as intercellular mitochondrial transfer, shows that resilience is built when cells cooperate. This image was captured during our collaboration with Professor Yun Wang’s laboratory at Fudan University, China, reflecting the same principle. Science, too, grows stronger when minds connect beyond boundaries.’
