Stephanie Hawkins contributes to Geneva Water Hub’s expert panel
Stephanie Hawkins - one of our PhD Researchers - has been in Geneva, participating as an expert for the think tank roundtable on “The Protection of Water During and After Armed Conflicts” convened by the Geneva Water Hub with the Platform for International Water Law of the Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva on 14 June 2016.
Discussions from the roundtable will lead to the production of an input paper for the Global High-Level Panel on Water and Peace, aiming to contribute to a better understanding of the strategic role that water and water supply infrastructures play in armed conflicts, as well as to reflect on possible ways to improve water protection under international law during and after armed conflicts.
