Welcome to our new LLM students

Sep 2021 — On Friday 17th of September, the Strathclyde Centre for Environmental Law and Governance gave a warm welcome to its new students on the LLM Global Environmental Law and Governance during its Induction Day. After a year of online teaching, Dr. Francesco Sindico (Founder and Co-Director of SCELG) and Ms. Rebecca Williams (Interim Director of SCELG) were thrilled to meet the LLM Students face-to-face and introduce them to SCELG and the opportunities they can gain while studying at the University of Strathclyde.

The LLM Global Environmental Law and Governance aims to help students critically appraise and creatively contribute to environmental regulation and governance at the international, transnational, national and local levels. The programme draws both on cutting-edge academic research on global environmental law, and on first-hand professional experience in environmental law and governance at different levels.

We look forward to engaging with the new cohort of LLM Students in what will be an exciting year full of opportunities due to COP26 being hosted in Glasgow. SCELG will be holding its own COP26 series of events (see the SCELG events webpage for more details) and numerous other events which will provide our new students with a real insight into climate change negotiations and surrounding issues. We wish them every success for the year and look forward to seeing them on Campus and at SCELG events.
