Health

We explore challenges and opportunities related to human and animal health and its interface with the environment, notably the link between environmental changes and the emergence of infectious diseases (zoonotic diseases). We are investigating ways in which global health governance may be elevated to accommodate the needs of all, including the most vulnerable members of society. We are also interested in how the health and environment interface may be leveraged to achieve mutual benefits for human, animal and environmental wellbeing. In particular, we focus on the following areas:

  • The One Health and the Planetary Health approaches
  • The intersection of biodiversity and health
  • Human rights, health and the environment including the rights to health and to a healthy environment
  • The relationship between human health, animal health and the ocean

We collaborate with a number of partner organisations in our work on health, including:

  • WHO
  • The secretariat of the CBD
  • CNRS
  • INSERM
  • Interdisciplinary Solidarity, Societies, Territories Laboratory (LISST)
  • Laboratory Population Environment Development (LPED

We continue to work closely with several of the organisations listed above in several capacities, including the production of publications and participation in workshops.
