We have been collaborating with the International Hydrological Programme (IHP) of UNESCO for several years, mainly in the context of the Internationally Shared Acquifers Resource Management (ISARM) programme. Dr. Francesco Sindico has been a member of the team responsible for the legal mapping of groundwater governance in the UNESCO-UNESCO International Hydrological Programme (IHP), World Bank, FAO, International Association of Hydrologists (IAH) Groundwater Governance project. He also contributed to a report on the relationship between the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and groundwater governance in the context of this project.

Dr. Sindico has also collaborated with UNESCO-IHP in its efforts on SDG implementation. In a report authored by Dr. Sindico a self-standing indicator for transboundary water cooperation is advocated in the context of SDG implementation.

Finally he collaborates closely with the Groundwater Governance Resources and Transboundary Aquifers (GGRETA) project, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and implemented by UNESCO-IHP, by providing training on international water law both in the context of the Stampriet case study in Southern Africa and the Trifinio case study in Central America.
