The integration of technology is a relatively new but developing area of our research and aligns to University strategic focus, development and expertise.
Our research aims to embed the latest technologies including mobile and web-based technologies both within our interventions and to capture accurate measurement of physical activity, sedentary behaviour and health. Examples of our work in this area include:
- Integration of technology within interventions to support active lifestyles for NCD prevention and management with focus on Diabetes – Dr Alison Kirk
- Use of technology to support the delivery, evaluation and scale-up of interventions – Dr Katy Weston
- Digital interventions for the management of chronic pain - Dr Fiona Muirhead
- Digital interventions for increasing physical activity in adults with intellectual disabilities – Dr Fiona Muirhead
