Each year the Scotland Regional Group offers up to ten SCI student memberships to PhD and MSc students working in scientific research in Scottish Universities, to help with networking and professional development opportunities.

One of our industrial PhD students, Jack Washington, was announced one of three winners for the 2018 round.  Applicants are requested to submit a 600-word article describing their research project and its relevance to the SCI strapline 'where science meets business' and Jack received a special commendation for the outstanding quality of his submission.

Jack is an industrial PhD student based in GSK, Irvine and is supervised by Dr Marc Reid (Strathclyde) and Dr Sharon Baillie (GSK).
