Strathclyde-GSKEFMC Young Medicinal Chemist Award
Dr Niall Anderson, one of our recent PhD graduates of the Collaborative PhD programmes with GSK (as supervised by Professor Colin Suckling), has picked up the highly prestigious 2021 European Federation of Medicinal Chemistry Prize for a Young Medicinal Chemist in Industry. Niall is a double Strathclyde graduate having also been an undergraduate in Pure and Applied Chemistry. His current position is Medicinal Chemistry Team Leader at GSK’s Medicines Research Centre in Stevenage, England.
The Prize has been established to acknowledge and recognise an outstanding young medicinal chemist or chemical biologist (<12 years after PhD) working in industry within Europe (see: https://www.efmc.info/prizes). The award will be conferred at the XXVI EFMC International Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry on Aug 29th – Sept 2nd, 2021 where Niall is invited to deliver a lecture.
