Strathclyde-GSKRSC/SCI National Retrosynthesis Competition 2020

2020 RSC/SCI National Retrosynthesis Competition
A team of Strathclyde/GSK Collaborative PhD students within Pure and Applied Chemistry picked up 2nd Prize at the 2020 National Retrosynthesis Competition, a highly-recognised annual event sponsored by the Society of Chemical Industry and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
The team delivered a 15 minute presentation and confidently answered associated questions on their proposed synthesis of a complex molecule. The event showcases the calibre of UK chemists from both industry and academia and provides a platform for them to demonstrate their retrosynthetic and forward synthetic prowess.
The presenting team included Alfie Wills (Team Captain, Industrial PhD Student), Tom Grunshaw (Industrial PhD Student), Luke Green (Industrial PhD Student), and Joe Mason (GSK colleague).
