Arron Aatkar, from Cohort 8 of our industrial PhD programme has been awarded 1st prize for his poster presentation at the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) College of Scholars Postgraduate Showcase 2020.

The SCI established the College of Scholars to help current members (Scholars) make the most of the opportunities an SCI award provides and to highlight SCI resources that may be of value in current research and future career roles. Arron joined this prestigious group following his SCI Scholarship award in June 2020.

The College of Scholars comprises all current and past recipients of the RS/SCI PhD Studentships, SCI Scholarships and and Travel Bursaries together with all early career award winners, early career committee members, SCI ambassadors and the Ramsay and Daphne Jackson Fellows.  

Arron is supervised by Professor Nick Tomkinson (Strathclyde) and Dr Jake Bush (GSK) and his poster was entitled 'The Next Generation of Covalent Fragments: Sulfur(VI) Fluoride Warheads for Ligandability Assessments and Hit Identification.
