We are delighted to announce that one of our collaborative industrial PhD students, Katherine MacFarlane, has been awarded a Syngenta Chemistry Scholarship in Organic Chemistry, based on her excellent contributions at the highly competative workshop in October 2020.

The workshop was open to all final and penultimate year PhD students at UK universities and through a series of challenging individual and team exercises, participants experienced what it is like to be a chemist working to develop the next generation of sustainable agrochemicals. Participants also had the chance to discuss their own PhD research and network with peer and Syngenta employees working across a broad range of disciplines. 

Katherine was one of just nine UK students to attend the workshop and one of three Scholarship awardees.
