Physics International scholarships

A number of scholarship options are available for students who wish to study at Strathclyde. Below are some of those available to international students and students from the rest of the UK.

Faculty of Science International Excellence Scholarships

The Faculty of Science International Excellence Scholarships are open to international applicants to both undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses.

International/Rest of UK Undergraduate Bursaries in Physics

Up to five awards are available for full duration of the course to international (non-EU) and rest of UK students, regardless of year of entry to course, based on academic merit.

The value of the award is up to 10% reduction in the tuition fees for each year of study. You'll be considered automatically with your UCAS application. We recommend that you contact us at least one month prior to the UCAS deadline to find out if you've been successful.

Ciência sem Fronteiras - Reino Unido (CsF), Brazilian Scientific Mobility Programme

Up to 40 undergraduate scholarships are available, worth 20% discount of the tuition fee for one year. Combined with the Brazilian government scholarship of £15,000 per student, this will cover the student’s tuition fee (£11,800), three-month industrial project/placement and campus accommodation costs for the year.

The majority of visiting students are third-year students, although we also welcome a small number of second-year students.

Postgraduate research, whether undertaking a full PhD at Strathclyde or as a sandwich year during your PhD, is also part of the Science without Borders Scheme.

Iraqi PhD Scholarship Scheme

Since June 2012, the University of Strathclyde has been working in collaboration with the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in London and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) as a partner in the Iraqi PhD Scholarship Scheme (IPSS). The project is managed by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the UK and all candidates are fully sponsored by MOHESR.

The Department of Physics, as part of the Faculty of Science, welcomes applications from Iraqi candidates for postgraduate research.
