Entanglement in Space
Dr Daniel Oi
Recent work by a Strathclyde physicist Dr Daniel Oi and others has been highlighted on the popular website phys.org. The research was published in the New Journal of Physics and is a proposal to test the effect of acceleration and orbital manoeuvres on the entanglement shared between two Bose-Einstein condensates carried by CubeSats. Such phenomena may become important for space-based quantum communication systems. Daniel is also collaborating with researchers at the Centre for Quantum Technologies on launching entangled sources into space.
