Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical SciencesOutreach

In SIPBS we are passionate about Science Outreach. Our goal is to create a dialogue between our scientific community and the public, fostering mutual understanding, awareness, and appreciation of the societal benefits of scientific research and education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects. Using examples from our own research and teaching activities, our public engagement programme aims to embody the University of Strathclyde ethos as ‘a place of useful learning’. This engagement can take various forms and may involve scientists, researchers, educators, and science communicators interacting with diverse audiences, including students, community members, policymakers, and more.

If you would like to learn more about our diverse Outreach initiatives, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Dr Fiona Murphy (f.murphy@strath.ac.uk) and Dr Karla Neves (karla.neves@strath.ac.uk), SIPBS Outreach and Public Engagement Co-ordinators for further information.

SIPBS have also developed Continuous Professional Development (CPD) workshops aimed at training school practitioners in key areas where STEM confidence is lacking.
