Personal statement

Dr Saishuai (David) Dai has been a research assistant (2015-2016), then a research associate (2016-2020) and then a research fellow (2020-2023) in the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering at the University of Strathclyde at Glasgow. Since 2023, Dr Dai has taken on the role of the director of the Kelvin Hydrodynamics Laboratory and a lecturership in the department.

Dr Dai's research mainly focuses on hydrodynamics tank testing and CFD simulations of hydrodynamics problems, including but not limited to offshore renewable energy (wind, wave, tidal), conventional floating structures (floating/fixed oil&gas platforms) and offshore vessels.
