- Cluster ACT: Aggregation and Collaboration Tools to enhance cluster network in the maritime sector

- Cluster ACT (Aggregation and Collaboration Tools) is a project aimed at developing a mechanism for maritime clusters to network and collaborate with private investors to enhance innovation and business development in the Mediterranean maritime sector, specifically in the three targeted sub-sectors: nautical activities, cruising, and ports and marinas.
The project is funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) under the management of the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME), an agency of the European Commission founded in 2003 to manage, on its behalf, several EU programs in the fields of business support, innovation, environment, climate action, energy, and maritime affairs. - Co-creation of the safe decarbonisation Journey for the maritime sector through collaborative research strategies to address the gaps

- The International Safer Maritime Decarbonisation Network (ISMDN) is funded by Lloyd's Register Foundation and coordinated by the University of Strathclyde across partner institutions in ten countries. It builds shared research capacity on the safety consequences of maritime decarbonisation, so that the transition to alternative fuels and new operating models is assessed for its human and organisational risk as well as its emissions.

- GREENOFFPORT (Green Renewable Energy for Efficient Networks: Off-grid Facilities for PORTs) was funded by Innovate UK under the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition and addressed the supply of clean energy to off-grid port facilities. Strathclyde led the digital decision-support work and the stakeholder engagement.

- OpenDesign: Scalable, Human-Centered, Risk-informed Design for Zero-Emission Ships

- OpenDesign develops a scalable, human-centred and risk-informed design approach for zero-emission ships, funded by Lloyd's Register Foundation and led by the Oslo School of Architecture and Design with RINA and ITS. It builds a design pathway that brings human factors and risk assessment into the design of vessels using new fuels and new operating models, and maps that pathway against the international standards governing human-centred design at sea.

- GATE Rudder System as a Retrofit for the Next Generation Propulsion and Steering of Ships (GATERS) H2020 Mobility for Growth
- Farag, Yaser (Researcher)
- GATERS developed and demonstrated the Gate Rudder System as a retrofit for next-generation ship propulsion and steering, funded by the European Commission under Horizon 2020 Mobility for Growth. The project retrofitted a gate rudder to an operating vessel and measured the gains in propulsive efficiency, manoeuvrability, and emissions compared with the conventional arrangement.

- SAFEMODE: Strengthening synergies between Aviation and Maritime in the area of human factors towards achieving more efficient and resilient MODE of transportation
- Farag, Yaser (Researcher)
- EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation project (Grant Agreement 814961), June 2019 to November 2022, bringing aviation and maritime partners together on human factors in safety. The University of Strathclyde (NAOME, Maritime Human Factors Centre) led the maritime human-factors work under Professor Osman Turan.
