Personal statement

Claire is the Director of the Centre for Youth and Criminal Justice (CYCJ). For further information about her interests and experience see http://www.cycj.org.uk/about-us/meet-the-team/claire-lightowler/.

CYCJ supports improvement and learning in youth justice, contributing to a reduction in crime and the realisation of better lives for individuals and communities. For further information about CYCJ see www.cycj.org.uk.

Claire's research work focuses on youth and criminal justice policy and practice issues. She has a particular interest in exploring the use of different forms of knowledge to improve youth and criminal justice. She is currently undertaking research about co-production and women's community justice; and about access to higher and further education for those with criminal convictions.
